A STORY OF LOVE
We had been together for four years
when we found out so it’s mad to
think we might never have known.
Life has a funny way of weaving unexpected stories, and Ed and I have found ourselves in one of the most remarkable tales of serendipity.
People keep telling us that it must be fate
Years passed, and the memory of our childhood encounter faded into the background of our lives. It wasn’t until our paths crossed once more at

Ed reached out to me on Facebook, seeking help with laundry of all things, marked the beginning of a journey that neither of us could have anticipated. Ed asked for assistance with the washing machine in our student flat. He had found a piece of mail with my name on it, realizing I had lived in the same house the year before. It was a stroke of luck, or perhaps fate , that led him to reach out to me.
Then, just a few weeks later, amid the bustling atmosphere of a night out with friends, I caught sight of Ed once again. There was something magnetic about him. We got chatting and hit it off pretty much instantly. Our first date was at Pizza Express. After that, we were basically inseparable.
Ed Savitt and Heidi Parker first met on family vacations in 1997.
After four years of dating, we had dinner with our mothers, reminiscing about childhood holidays. My mom remembered a boy named Ed from vacation, which was a funny coincidence. Two weeks later, as my mother rummaged through the attic, she found a forgotten photograph. It was the picture-perfect moment when the pieces of our shared history fell into place. The little boy I once knew in Turkey turned out to be none other than the man I fell in love with — Ed.
The revelation left us speechless, in awe of the remarkable journey that brought us back together . I’m not one to believe in miracles, but the story changed my life.
Ed and Heidi Parker got married in August 2016, 19 years after their chance ‘holiday romance.’
